It is their hope that this website will encourage the younger generation of Zalawadis to accept and take pride in their heritage, at the same time aid in the upliftment and development of the community by moving into the tech-savvy, new-age digital world of today.Son of late Smt. Mangalaben and Shri Jashwantbhai Shantilal Shah, Shri Mayankbhai has always stood steadfast in his support of the Shree Zalawad Sthanakwasi Jain Sabha and its charitable endeavours. Whenever the Zalawad society has needed aid, guidance and donations for its upliftment, Shri Mayankbhai has always been forthcoming and generous in providing support.
It is said that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree…Just as Shri Jashwantbhai Shantilal Shah has adhered to every duty of being a Jain Shravak even while rubbing shoulders with a cosmopolitan rich and famous crowd, similarly his son Shri Mayankbhai Shah and his daughter in-law Smt. Shrutiben Mayankbhai Shah are also working shoulder to shoulder with the Zalawad community towards the betterment of their community all the while ensuring that they uphold all the tenets of Jainism and their legacy. That no brother of the community is troubled, and that everyone in the extended Zalawadi family can stay true to their principles of Jainism seems to be the goal of this humble yet principled family. To that effect, not only have Mayankbhai’s two sisters – Kumari Truptiben and Kumari Preetiben renounced the world and taken Diksha but they have also been walking on the path of austurity and pure awareness, unencumbered by trivial temptations and strife.
Despite being a busy and successful businessman, Shri Mayankbhai is one of those rare souls that not only finds the time to follow the path set down by our Jain monks and teachers but also makes the time to help and guide others down the same path. It is with this uplifted mindset, that Mayankbhai hosts a 2-3 days Dharmic Shikshan Shibir (Religious Education Camp) twice a year to educate the community about Nav Tatva (9 Fundamentals of Jainism) and encourage them to incorporate these elements into their day to day lives.
His advice to the Zalawadi youth of today is: Respect and Be proud of your culture, religion and family. Help the society as much as you can and you will lead a happy and content life.
The first step towards creating a website for Zalawad Sanstha was possible only because of the support and initial donation by Shri Satishchandrabhai Shantilal Doshi. It can be said with awe that his modernistic thinking is at crossroads with his age since the idea of creating a website came to him because of the difficulties that were faced whilst booking Sanatorium Rooms in the earlier days.
